Join Heidal Husky for an authentic wilderness adventure at the foot of Jotunheimen National Park, home to Norway’s highest peaks and some of the country’s most breathtaking winter scenery.
Located in the beautiful Heidal Valley in Gudbrandsdalen, Heidal Husky is home to more than 40 energetic Alaskan Huskies. These strong, hardworking dogs love to run and truly come into their own in the winter mountains.
Our tours begin at the foot of Jotunheimen National Park and take you through varied and stunning winter landscapes. Throughout the journey, you’ll drive your own dog team and take part in feeding and caring for the dogs, ensuring they are happy and well looked after every day. This hands-on experience creates a special bond with the dogs and gives you a genuine taste of life as a dog musher.
Choose Your Dog Sledding Adventure
We offer both a 2-day tour with one overnight stay and a 3-day tour with two overnight stays.
Both tours include breakfast, lunch and dinner, allowing you to relax and fully enjoy the experience.
Accommodation is in tents and/or a traditional Norwegian mountain cabin (seter), depending on the tour you choose and arrangements made in advance.
The 2-day tour is perfect if you’re looking for an exciting introduction to dog sledding and Norway’s winter mountains, with one overnight stay along the trail.
The 3-day tour gives you more time to settle into life on the sled and truly experience the Norwegian winter wilderness. Spend one night camping beneath the stars and another in a cosy traditional Norwegian mountain cabin (seter), where a warm fireplace and delicious home-cooked meals await after an unforgettable day on the trail.
A True Winter Wilderness Experience
Our tours are suitable for anyone with a reasonable level of fitness who enjoys active outdoor adventures. No previous dog sledding experience is required. We’ll teach you everything you need to know before setting off.
We do our best to tailor each trip to our guests’ wishes whenever possible, and routes may be adjusted according to weather and snow conditions to ensure the best possible experience.
To provide a personal and memorable adventure, groups are limited to 2–5 participants.

Late Winter Tours from Valdresflye
During late winter and after Easter, we also organise 2 and 3-day dog sledding tours starting from the spectacular mountain plateau of Valdresflye.
From here, there are endless opportunities to explore west into the magnificent mountains of Jotunheimen National Park, or head east and south across beautiful high mountain terrain. These tours are organised on request and planned according to weather and snow conditions.
