Nedre Dørålseter Turishytte

Nedre Dørålseter is next to Rondane National Park, Norway's first national park.
The 963 sq km National Park area, which was officially listed in 1962 and expanded in 2003, is centrally located in Eastern Norway, between Gudbrandsdalen and Østerdalen. The lodge can accommodate 30 guests and has a dining room that seats 40.

Many of our guests bring friends or colleagues to spend a few days in the beautiful countryside enjoying good food and drink. Some choose the lodge as a wonderful setting for a family celebration. Whatever the occasion, we ensure our guests enjoy their stay in the mountains.

We continue old customs in the mountains, offering our guests a three-course dinner, coffee and home-made cakes, and a delicious breakfast buffet. We also serve beer and wine. In the evening, relax around the fireplace with friends and family in one of our cosy old living rooms, dating from 1880.

Nedre Dørålseter is an excellent starting point for walks in the national park, a magnificent mountain landscape with ten peaks reaching over 2000 meters. Take a day trip or a longer tour, with varying degrees of difficulty. For a family-friendly hike, the lush Dørålsdalen valley extends about 10 km from the lodge, leading you along rivers and lakes surrounded by mountains.

If your sights are on a summit, there are plenty to choose when starting from Nedre Dørålseter Lodge. For those staying with us for a few days, take a day trip to Grimsdalen, Folldal or Hjerkinn where you’ll find farm courses, horse riding, musk-ox and moose safaris.

Welcome to Nedre Dørålseter Lodge, whether you’re staying with us for a few days, just spending the night, or want to pop-in to enjoy some peace over a good cup of coffee.
