Rondane River Lodge is located in beautiful Sollia, 780 meters above sea level and along one of Norway’s 18 national scenic routes (Rondanevegen). The crystal clear Vulua river flows through our garden, and our closest neighbors are Rondane and Dovrefjell national parks. Our location halfway between Oslo and Trondheim makes this a fantastic place to stay for a relaxing holiday or as a stopover on your journey.
Rondane River Lodge is a family run charming hotel with 10 double rooms and 11 log cabins. We have 4 traditional rooms and 6 newly renovated hotel rooms, all with private bathrooms. If you stay in one of the log cabins you have more space, you can cook your own food and enjoy yourself in front of the fireplace in peace and quiet. Guests can use the wood-fired sauna and hot tub next to the river.
The hosts
Benjamin and Karin own Rondane River Lodge since August 2019 and moved to Norway with their 2 daughters Liv and Mia.
They previously lived in Antwerp (Belgium) where they still have their travel agency Noorderhuis specialized in the Nordic countries. They have been exploring Scandinavia for more than 20 years. Benjamin is an outdoor enthusiast and always keen to share tips on what to do or where to go. He takes care of the garden in the summer and clears (a lot of) snow in the winter. Karin has a special interest in food and likes to experiment with new recipes in the kitchen.
