Dog Sledding in Gudbrandsdalen | Heidal Husky
Experience the true magic of winter in Gudbrandsdalen with Heidal Husky!
We are located in the small and charming village of Heidal, surrounded by stunning nature and beautiful mountain landscapes.
At our kennel, you will meet over 40 enthusiastic Alaska huskies who love to run and take guests out on unforgettable adventures.
Join us for a unique nature experience where you can feel the silence of the mountains, connect with the dogs, and enjoy the thrill of guiding your own dog team through the winter landscape.
Depending on the group size, you can drive your own sled or share with another participant and take turns driving.
If you prefer, you can also simply sit back and enjoy the ride.
The maximum number of participants per tour is 8.
With experienced guides accompanying you, you will feel safe throughout the entire trip, whether it’s your first time dog sledding or you have tried it before.
Our Tours
20 km tour (approx. 2–3 hours)
A great introduction where you get to know the dogs and the basics of dog sledding
Price: NOK 1950 per person
36 km tour to a traditional lavvo (approx. 4–5 hours)
A longer tour through varied mountain terrain, with a stop at a cozy lavvu for a well-deserved break
Price: NOK 2900 per person
Children under 14 years receive a 50% discount.
Tours can be adjusted slightly to suit your needs.
Clothing and Equipment
For the best experience, we recommend:
Warm, windproof outer clothing
Wool base layers (preferably several layers)
Warm winter boots
Hat, buff/neck warmer, and warm windproof mittens
It can get cold out on the sled, so we recommend dressing warmly, preferably a bit warmer than you think you need.
Feel free to contact us with any questions or to make a booking.
We look forward to giving you a memorable experience with our dogs!
