Tour de Dovre on bike

Now you can ride the national park around and charge the batteries with waffles on the cafes.
National park road
The newly constructed cycling road starts at Dombås public transport hub and runs 32 kilometers to Hjerkinn. The gateway to Dovrefjell National Park with its muskos, the Snøhetta mountain and world famous viewpoint with the same name. The bike path is a gravel road, and in itself a scenic velostrada totally free of motorized traffic. But with good public transportation at both ends.

DOVRE ROUND
The new cycle path is only the last piece in Gudbrandsdalens most beautiful round trip on two wheels. From the mountain lodge at Hjerkinn, a easy-traveled route continues along the little-traffic road down to Folldal. Here you can take a stop at the convenience store before you step into Grimsdalen. Many people think this is the country's most beautiful mountain valley. Flat mileage rolls easily while experiencing live farming culture minute by minute. You'll find accommodation and dining places along the way, and after a while you can see the beautiful cultural landscape in Dovre and Gudbrandsdalen.

CYCLE ROUND Tour de DOVRE

> 32 km of newly established cycle route between Dombås and Hjerkinn opens for the unique cycling tour "Dovre Rundt". The road is finally finished and officially opened September 2017.

> Recommended start is Dombås. Further to Hjerkinn, through Folldalen and Grimsdalen back to Dovre and Dombås. But it can be well cycled both ways. The whole round is approx. 115 kilometers and mostly on gravel road.

> The trip provides opportunities for many spectacular availers and activities along the way: a trip to Snøhetta. Musc ox safaris and Viewpoint Snøhetta. Visit the Folldal mining museum. Living mountain farms with animals, dining and accommodation in Grimsdalen.

> An alternative route is to ride "Mountain to fjord" from Hjerkinn, down to Dombås and then north to Lesja and Bjorli with final stage down the spectacular Romsdalen to the fjord at Åndalsnes.
